June Ellen, is an Herbalist, Naturalist, and accomplished Artist. She has a passion for the wild places, plants and spaces within ourselves which need conservation. "In wildness is the preservation of the world" the thread of this idea weaves together her multi-colored cloak.
Her formal education was at WheatonCollege where she majored in Biology. She spent 7 years as a student, with Tom Brown, Jr. learning Native American skills & philosophy. JE has also studied with Rosemary Gladstar, a leading herbalist in the US. Traveling to Ecuador together to study plants, she had the opportunity to work with a Native medicine man & shaman as well.
She teaches classes at various places in NC (www.lovethe earth.com, www.fence.org and www.herbsheal.com .)
Currently, June Ellen continues her studies with Jackie Woods and is a healer at the Adawehi Institute in Columbus, NC. www.jackiewoods.org.
